Welcome Back

Welcome back to the library blog for 2015.  Hope you have all had a great summer holiday and are settling into the new school year.  The library blog is a great place to see what is happening in the library and catch up on all the new books that are coming onto the shelves.  Unsure what to read next then this could be a good place to start.

Over the holidays I started to read the Impossible Quest Series by Kate Forsyth ... I managed to get through the first two and can't wait for the next one.

Escape from Wolfhaven Castle is book one of this exciting series.

"Wolfhaven castle has been attacked and only four escape capture ... Tom, trained to scrub pots, not fight; Elanor, the lord's daughter; Sebastian, a knight in training; and Quinn, the witch's apprentice.

Somehow, if they are to save their people, these unlikely heroes must find four magical beasts from legend.  But first, they have to make it our of the castle alive .... "

Definitely one to look out for on the new book stand!

New Picture Books from Local Author Peter Adolph

Local author Peter Adolph has written two new picture books now available in our library.  Mr Adolph used to teach at Waimataitai School!! Both books are illustrated by well known Timaru illustrator Richard Gunther and feature fabulous illustrations.

Mrs McQueen and the Wellington wind is a fun rhyming story inspired by Peter's grandmother who was once attacked by a ferious wind and The Leopardile is about a crime-busting creature. You won't want to miss them!
