The Cat in the Hat

The Cat in The Hat is a very funny movie, and book written by Dr Suess!

We recommend this book for year 1-5. Dr Suess also has a whole series of books and are very addictive! Make sure you look out for them in our school library next time you are there!

The Gruffalo

The Gruffalo is a fantastic book made into a great movie!

This book was written by Julia Donaldson, and illustrated by Axel Scheffler. Look out for The Gruffalo in our school library! This picture book is recommended for years 1-3.So next time your class goes to the library, have a look out for this hilarious picture book!

Hairy Maclary

Hairy Maclary is a great series of books in our library. They are picture books recommended for Years 1-3 and are very funny!!! Look for these books in the picture book section of the library. These fantastic books are written by Lynley Dodd. 

Charlotte's Web

Charlotte's Web is a fabulous book in our library recommended for Years 5-7. It's a great movie too and an even better book! Next time that you go into the library, make sure that you look out for Charlotte's Web!

Try a new series

Looking for something FUNNY to read ... then why not try the Brilliant World of Tom Gates by L Pichon.  Perfect for readers who like Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Big Nate.  Written in a similar style, the Tom Gates series is a handwritten journal written from Tom's point of view about his life at school. Filled with lots of quirky illustrations it is a quick FUN read.  Winner of the Roald Dahl Funny Prize this series is not on the shelf long so be quick and grab a copy!

Happy Birthday Hairy Maclary

"Out of the gate and off for a walk went Hairy Maclary from Donaldson's Dairy" is how this little dogs first adventure begins.  During July libraries and bookshops around New Zealand have been celebrating the 30th birthday of this wonderful picture book by Lynley Dodd.  Look out for it in our library along with further books in the series.

Library Challenge

Coming to movie theatres in August is the 2nd book in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series.  Look out for it in the library and read it first!
